Absence is a great measure of leadership effectiveness. But in hindsight, it’s exactly what I needed to understand my leadership strengths and weaknesses. I can take a half day to do some strategic thinking and planning without getting distracted. I’ve been in the weeds for eight years. I’m more patient.
